Genting Simon Sdn Bhd announced plans to deploy 500 EV chargers at Johor Premium Outlets, making JPO Southeast Asia’s largest fast-charging EV Hub. The new project addresses the rising demand for EV infrastructure while advancing cutting-edge technological solutions for sustainable mobility.

When fully operational, the EV chargers at JPO can offer DC charging output up to 1MW. It aims to be the region’s first publicly accessible 1MW charger.

At the moment, DC Handal has 12x DC charge points and 2x AC charge points with 600kW of total capacity. They have another 4x DC charge points for electric buses with 400kW capacity.

Meanwhile, ChargEV has deployed 30x DC charge points with 1MW capacity. However, these chargers are not officially open to the public yet. With a combined 2MW capacity, this is currently the largest DC charging hub not just in Malaysia but also in Southeast Asia.

The EV chargers at this location are available for free until 10pm tonight.
